Sectors: food and drink producers
A gift box is finished for one customer.
A box of chocolates is filled from what the shop makes. It is finished for one person or one company, for a day that cannot move. In Specify, the customer picks the pieces one by one. They add a greeting or a logo and choose the day, all in one order.
What makes it hard to sell, and how Specify is built for it
Much of what a food or drink producer sells is for one person or date. Each problem is set beside how Specify is built for it.

A box is many choices
A box of chocolates is filled piece by piece. The customer picks its size and its ribbon. EU law knows the shape: chocolates sold together in a box are an assortment.

Pieces picked one by one
The customer adds pieces one at a time, each with its own flavour. The pieces can count towards the size of the box. Box sizes, flavours and ribbons are choices, each with its own price.

From the chocolatier demo store: each part is chosen on its own. The ribbon, each flavour and how many, the greeting, a logo and the day. The order carries all of them. In the trade
A name or a logo makes it one customer's
A box with a greeting, a name or a company's logo is for one customer. It cannot be sold to anyone else. EU consumer law draws the line narrowly. A box picked from the shop's standard pieces is not personalised by that alone.

The personal part, in the order
The greeting is asked for in a field of its own. It arrives exactly as the customer typed it. A logo or a label is uploaded as a file and attached to the order. So what was made for one customer is in the order itself.

The day is fixed
A gift is for Christmas, a company's anniversary or an employee's milestone. That day does not move. The food has a date of its own as well. What spoils quickly carries a use-by date. So a box made too early may not keep until the day.

The day, chosen with the gift
The day the gift is for is chosen as a date. It is in the same order as the pieces and the greeting. It arrives with every other choice, not in a separate message.

A company buys one gift many times
In Denmark and in Sweden, an employer's Christmas gift to staff can be tax-free. But only up to a value the tax rules set. In Sweden, it is tax-free only if all staff or a larger group get it. So a company orders one gift many times over. Its price is kept under that limit.

A price for the quantity
A company's order can be offered for a quote. You price it yourself and reply. A larger quantity of a made-to-order box can earn a lower price per box. You set it as an amount or a percentage.
